Strategi Pembinaan Kesehatan Mental di Panti Asuhan Kristen dalam Menghadapi Fenomena Perundungan
Abstract
Mental illness due to bullying in schools, which is rampant these days, has a profound impact on the growth and development of children. However, this problem has received less attention, and there is less awareness of the importance of mental health development in Christian orphanages. This study aims to raise awareness of the importance of mental health development and develop Christian values-based strategies to address bullying in schools. A qualitative method with a literature study approach focuses on collecting and analyzing data related to bullying and identifying relevant literature to inform mental health development. The research findings succeeded in summarizing five steps of mental health development strategies related to bullying in schools: equipping themselves with mental health literacy, providing Christian religious knowledge, embracing the school through BK (guidance and counseling) teachers, open communication between mentors and orphanage children, and coaching through teleconference technology by experts. The urgency of the research lies in the increasing cases of bullying in schools and the lack of comprehensive treatment in Christian orphanages.
Abstrak
Fenomena mental illness yang disebabkan oleh perilaku perundungan di sekolah berdampak serius pada pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Namun, permasalahan ini kurang mendapat perhatian dan kesadaran akan pentingnya pembinaan kesehatan mental di panti asuhan Kristen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pembinaan kesehatan mental, serta mengembangkan strategi berbasis nilai-nilai Kristen dalam menghadapi perundungan di sekolah. Melalui metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur, berfokus pada mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data-data terkait perundungan, serta mencari acuan dalam menerapkan langkah-langkah bagi pembinaan kesehatan mental. Temuan penelitian berhasil merangkum lima langkah strategi pembinaan kesehatan mental terkait perundungan di sekolah, yakni memperlengkapi diri dengan literasi kesehatan mental, pembekalan pengetahuan agama Kristen, merangkul pihak sekolah melalui guru BK (Bimbingan dan Konseling), adanya komunikasi yang terbuka antara pembina dengan anak-anak panti asuhan, dan pembinaan melalui teknologi teleconference oleh tenaga ahli. Urgensi penelitian terletak pada meningkatnya kasus perundungan di sekolah dan kurangnya penanganan komprehensif di panti asuhan Kristen.
